Demand the senate vote NO on the SAVE America Act
Congress recently brought back a repackaged version of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would require Americans to show a passport, birth certificate or other citizenship papers to register to vote, documents that over 21 million Americans do not have ready access to.
This push represents an anti-democratic agenda that makes voting harder for marginalized communities, especially voters of color in the Deep South who are less likely to have passports, more likely to be low-income, and more susceptible to natural disasters which could destroy documents.
Join the SPLC in rejecting this shameful legislation by contacting your senators now. Tell them to vote NO on the SAVE America Act and, if it comes to it, to hold the senate floor indefinitely to block the bill and protect voting rights.
