HB 991/SB 1134 would require ALL Florida voters to re-verify their citizenship status through documentary proof — such as a birth certificate or passport — to continue voting.
This legislation will only weaken voting power in the state — making voting harder for people of color who are less likely to have passports, more likely to be low-income, and more susceptible to natural disasters, like hurricanes, which could destroy documents.
